Volunteer with NTL

Volunteers at Daybreak To volunteer is to give more than just your time - you give your energy, your commitment, your love and even your smile. In 2004, almost 2 million Canadians volunteered approximately 148 million hours or the equivalent of 77,000 full-time jobs in health and hospital organizations.

Volunteers are an essential part of the Canadian fabric, of the compassion found in our health care system. We would like to thank you for your interest in sharing your time and a part of you with the residents at Nanaimo Travellers Lodge.

Our volunteers work with a trained Activity Aide and assist the Elders with planned programs such as baking, crafts, bowling, etc. Our goal is to provide failure free programming that gives the Elders an opportunity to feel good. Our programming is very simple and we believe the process of an activity is far more important than the finished product.

Please download and complete the volunteer information package. Then drop off your form at the front desk of the Lodge and our Volunteer Coordinator will contact your right away. In the meantime, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator Carolina Ponsford at 250-760-2639 if you have any questions.

Please note that all volunteers are required to complete a criminal records check prior to volunteering at Nanaimo Travellers Lodge.
Everybody can be great. Because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve.... You don't have to know the second theory of thermodynamics in physics to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.
